School Counseling

Hello, I'm so glad you are here! I am Lorle Young, and this is my sixth year as a school counselor at Londale Elementary School, and I truly love what I do. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from Freed-Hardeman University in 2015 and went on to complete my Master’s in School Counseling from Johnson University in 2019. I became a school counselor because I’m passionate about encouraging, supporting, and empowering students to reach their full potential. Whether it's helping them grow socially and emotionally, guiding them academically, or preparing them for college and careers—I’m here to walk alongside them every step of the way. At the heart of my work is building meaningful, supportive relationships with students. I believe those connections make all the difference.

Did you know that Lonsdale is a UTK H.A.B.I.T. school? As a H.A.B.I.T. school we are proud to offer many different services, including the Reading Ruff Program, to our students. Mrs. Young has a certified H.A.B.I.T. dog that will soon be a school on Fridays. This dog, Josie, will stay in Mrs. Young’s office and provide support as needed.
